Lone Star Cut

In May of 1977 the legislature and governor of Texas signed a bill adopting an official gem cut called, ” The Lone Star cut “.  It is a round shaped design and when you look into the gem you can see a single five pointed star.  The star is to represent the lone star of Texas, but some people see the star of Bethlehem, a star representing a loved one’s place in the heavens.  However you envision the star it is a very special design.  Below are two photos, one in Blue Quartz lab and the other in Citrine.  Other shapes like square and rectangle with the star in it are available.  The designs can be cut into other gem types like Topaz the official gem of Texas.
